Job Description
Indian Chief / Cook required for a busy Indian restaurant in the city centre. The Cook will primarily be responsible for cooking food as ordered and should be able to work on several different orders simultaneously.
Responsibility:
· Maintain a friendly, cheerful, and courteous demeanour while providing restaurant and hotel guests personalized service.
· The Cook will also be responsible for washing, cutting, and preparing food for serving or cooking.
· Communicate effectively with guests and fellow team members.
· Create an inventory of food items and report on supplies to be ordered.
· Control inventory for loss, waste, and spoilage.
· Clean food preparation areas, cooking surfaces, and utensils, keeping the kitchen spotless and compliant with all health codes.
· Adhere to food safety requirements.
· Monitor the cleanliness of the back loading dock and trash area.
· Assist other team members and departments in contributing to the best overall performance of the department, restaurant, and hotel.
· Perform other duties as assigned, requested, or deemed necessary by management.
· Team Player: Works well as a member of a group.
· Capable of carrying out a given task with all details necessary to get the task done well.
· Experience
Must have 2-3 years of experience working in a hotel or restaurant with professional Indian cooking experience. Yearly, four weeks of peak vacation/holiday are given—salary incentives upon work performance. Chef's work gear will be provided.
The visa and all paperwork are required to allow candidates with the desired qualifications to meet immigration requirements.
