Job Description

Site cleaners- laborer’s to join our remote mining site teams in the northern regions of Alaska/Canada. We are looking for five dynamic, punctual, organized team members to take on the working mines' caretaking/cleaning and laboring positions.

Responsibilities:

• Steam cleaning equipment as required, snow removal around the shop, and keeping clean/tidy working mine grounds, etc. 

• Operating fork trucks for moving parts and other items, operating company vehicles to pick up parts and move items as requested. 

• Training will be provided for all equipment and vehicles training.

• Work as laborers for skilled personnel as and when needed.

•Ensure compliance with all company, client, and legislated safety policies and procedures.

• Using adequate and suitable safety equipment, including PPE.

• Reviewing all safe work plans/ hazard assessments before job commencement.

• Must have a driver's license/forklift lenience. Heavy goods license will be an advantage.

• One year of previous experience in a laborer role in construction/quarry or mining is preferred.

• Successful candidates must be physically fit and capable of lifting 50 lbs as they will do a lot of lifting. 

• working outdoors in harsh weather conditions and need to work as a team with others.

•Must have a safety-first attitude, be attentive, and possess strong listening skills.

• A high school diploma or post-secondary Education is considered an asset, and be proficient in English, both verbally and written

Work Term: 1 year with an extension to the employment contract, all dependent on work performance. 

Accommodation and food are provided daily in the canteen. All work gear, work laundry, and work clothes are also provided. Hours of work: 40 to 60 hours per week. English must be spoken, and be a team player with an Education of at least Secondary (high) school graduation.

Benefits we offer:

Vacation and Statutory Holiday pay are allocated to each paycheck.

Night shift pay: premium pay of +$1.20 / hour.

Transportation to and from sites is provided.

 

Consistently demonstrate and promote safety while working and on-site.

 

The employment process requires pre-employment testing, a background check, drug testing, and a virtual Face – Face interview. Applicants must pass all steps of the application process to qualify for employment. 

 

This job position requires medical health certification and requires you to be vaccinated. Benefits: Medical and dental Insurance. Paid holidays/leave.

 

These jobs require you to work in remote, cold environments far from the main cities. Sometimes, you'll be in camps with other employees isolated from the world in remote places.
