Job Description

Leading gold company and a producer of copper, silver, zinc, and lead is looking for at least a dozen (12) laborers to start in 2024 at different locations - across Alaska and the Canadian Northwest Territories. Training will be provided on-site for successful applicants. You must be willing to learn.

Essential Duties:

•To support the mine in all manners of labour works and to ensure that mining operation goes smoothly.

•Perform cleanup, general pit duties, and operation of water trucks to service drills.

•Transport Drillers to their work site/drill.

•Stock drills with bits, pickets, bags, tags, and casings.

•Stock pickup truck with supplies required for the remainder of the day.

•Each day, allow 2-3 hours for cutting and bagging casings for the shift/cross-shift.

•Perform rounds to each drill throughout the day, restocking as needed.

•Change hammers and bits for drillers when needed.

•Perform 2-3 sample runs per shift.

•Sample, tape, and case drilled holes are non-restricted.

•Run errands as the Drillers, Supervisors, Operations, and coordinators request.

•Stock the canteen with water, paperwork, and supplies and tidy as needed.

•Report stock shortages daily to the Drill Blast Supervisor (casings, shackles, bottles, pickets, etc).

•Transport drillers to and from the lunchroom.

•Restock drills for cross-shift.

•Clean and refuel pickup trucks and machinery.

•Assist in changing bits.

•Assist in cleaning the shovel and drill tracks.

•Duties are not limited to those listed above and may vary by shift.

•Maintain and keep work premises and machinery clean and tidy, always following the site's health & safety standards.

 

Requirements:

• Forklift License & drivers’ license 

• A Valid Driver's license

• Be Physically fit, able to lift to 50lbs

• Focus and attention to detail at all times

Training will be provided for all the above duties for selected candidates.

 

The job is a Full-time position for one year with an extension to the work contract upon performance. Accommodation and meals are provided on job sites. There are plenty of opportunities for overtime with on-site job training.

 

There are variable shifts, 10-hour, and 8-hour shifts day or night, Monday to Friday, with overtime pay.

 

Consistently demonstrate and promote safety while working and on-site.

 

The employment process requires pre-employment testing, a background check, drug testing, and a virtual Face – Face interview. Applicants must pass all steps of the application process to qualify for employment.

These jobs require you to work in remote, cold environments far from the main cities. Sometimes, you'll be in camps with other employees isolated from the world in remote places.

Experience;

Industrial Experience: 2 years (preferred) in construction or mining with a forklift and driver's license, minimum secondary school diploma, technically competent and willing to learn with checkable references.
